Current Hydro Welcomes Tom Salter as VP of Construction
October 26, 2026
Pittsburgh, PA – Current Hydro has strengthened its construction leadership with the addition of Thomas Salter as Vice President of Construction, supporting the company’s transition from project development to construction and execution.
Salter brings extensive leadership experience in marine and heavy civil construction, federal waterways, and the owner-side delivery of major energy infrastructure. Throughout his career, he has led complex construction programs from early planning and preconstruction through execution, closeout, and final acceptance. His experience includes working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and FERC and overseeing major contractors, including Bechtel and KBR, on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Most recently, Salter oversaw Gulf operations projects for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, following earlier senior owner-side construction roles with Cheniere Energy and Tellurian.
“Tom brings the depth of construction experience and leadership we need as Current Hydro prepares to move projects from development into construction,” said Jeremy King, Chief Executive Officer of Current Hydro. “His experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, particularly in and around federal waterways, is directly aligned with the work we are doing. We are excited to have Tom join our team and help build the construction organization that will support Current Hydro’s next phase of growth.”
As Vice President of Construction, Salter will lead the development of Current Hydro’s construction organization, with responsibilities spanning construction staffing, contractor oversight, commercial administration, project controls, constructability, cost and schedule management, quality, and commissioning.
The addition of dedicated construction leadership marks an important step as Current Hydro advances its hydropower portfolio from development toward execution. Salter will work closely with the company’s engineering, development, and project teams to integrate constructability, procurement, scheduling, quality, and field execution into project planning.
“I’ve spent much of my career helping deliver complex energy and infrastructure projects, and I’ve always taken pride in knowing that this work can have a lasting impact,” said Salter. “What excites me about Current Hydro is the opportunity to put that experience to work developing reliable energy infrastructure that can serve communities for decades to come. I’m grateful to be part of the team and look forward to what we can accomplish together.”
