PROJECT OVERVIEW

New power from existing infrastructure

The Joe Hardin Hydroelectric Project will add 10.33 MW of new hydropower generation at the existing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Joe Hardin Lock and Dam (No. 3) on the Arkansas River. By putting existing federal infrastructure to work, the project is expected to generate approximately 86,900 MWh of reliable, renewable electricity annually, enough to power approximately 8,400 homes, without constructing a new dam or reservoir. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will continue to operate the existing lock and dam.

The Notice of Intent to File an Application, Pre-Application Document, and Proposed Study Plan were filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in April 2026 under FERC Project No. 15326.
