PROJECT OVERVIEW
New power from existing infrastructure
The Dashields Hydroelectric Project will add 8.4 MW of new hydropower generation at the existing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dashields Locks and Dam on the Ohio River. By putting existing federal infrastructure to work, the project is expected to generate approximately 69,300 MWh of reliable, renewable electricity annually, enough to power approximately 6,600 homes, without constructing a new dam or reservoir. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will continue to operate the existing lock and dam.
The Draft License Application was filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in August 2026 under FERC Project No. 15292.
